The Hayrenaser organization has started a program of building civilian shelters in Artsakh. Hayrenaser built its first civilian shelter in the Kashatagh region, city of Berdzor. The Hayrenikis group from Los Angeles sponsored the building of the Berdzor shelter.
First, your newborn son needs medical assistance due to complications.
Then, your family gets into a terrible car crash resulting in serious injury.
Then, your home burns down…
While this may sound like a script for a horror movie, it is not! It is what happened to the family of village nurse Sona Karapetyan from the village of Hochants in the Kashatagh region of Artsakh.
Hayrenaser is involved in infrastructure construction and humanitarian projects in Kashatagh. On March 9th we got word of a fire in the Hochants village. Immediately, we rushed to the scene to see how we can help. What we learned was devastating. (see the video above in Armenian).
Sona had taken her newborn son to see a doctor in Yerevan. On her way back her family got into a terrible car crash, resulting in serious injuries, broken bones. While in the hospital, their home in Hochants burned down and completely destroyed all their belongings.
While the government agencies provide help, it is not enough to build a new home. ONLY YOU can help to build a home for Sona’s newborn (see blueprint below). And since her family of 7 is left homeless, we need to start the reconstruction ASAP. So your help is NEEDED URGENTLY!
Nurse Sona’s only hope now is the generosity of people LIKE YOU. Please make your tax-deductible donation by clicking the “DONATE” button.
Founders of Hayrenaser Stepan Sargsyan, Nelli Martirosyan and their daughter Shushi on their way to Herik.
Herik village, along with Moshatagh and Berdik, is in the Moshatagh region. Herik is located 45 kilometers north east from the Kashatagh’s central region of Berdzor. The village was liberated during the Artsakh war in 1991-92. Resettlement began around 1995-96.
There were only 30 families in the region during those years. The village lacked electricity and a school for a couple of years after the resettlement.

“Help the soldier guarding the frontline.” This was the message of the father of hero BAGRAT ALEKSANYAN during our visit.
Bagrat had forced his family to repatriate from Moscow so he could serve in the Armenian army. Who would do such a thing? Only a TRUE HERO. He and his younger brother, serving with him, never guarded the trenches together. In case the unthinkable happened, one of them would be left to take care of their parents. And the unthinkable did happen, only 2 months before the end of his service. Bagrat was one of the 18 soldiers’ whose bodies were mutilated by the enemy.
Hayrenaser visited the family of fallen hero BAGRAT ALEKSANYAN and delivered our donors’ gratitude and $500 in donations. We thank Masis Ghazaryan and Alina Koutnouyan for helping the family of our hero.
Hayrenaser visited the family of fallen hero GAGIK MELKONYAN and delivered our donors’ gratitude and $500 in donations.
Gagik Melkonyan’s family lives in the Zolakar village of the marz of Gegharkunik. During our visit we spoke to Gagik’s sister Alisa. She told us that she will choose her brother’s road, learn his profession and join the Armenian army. Of course, you have a 50/50 chance of survival on the frontline, relatives are trying to talk her out of it. But she is undeterred. Gagik’s mother had died only months before. His 19-year-old sister and 27-year-old brother, Samvel, who has a chronic illness, were left to Gagik’s care.
We thank the following generous donors for helping the family of our hero: Gevork Goukasian, Karo Martirosyan, Vahan Gabrielyan, Lalik Lapoyan, Davit Ghrjyan, Karine Matevosyan, Marine Badalyan. THANK YOU!!!
Hayrenaser visited the family of fallen hero GEVORG MGHDESYAN and delivered our donors’ gratitude and $500 in donations.
Gevorg Mghdesyan’s family lives in the Nor Hatchn village of the marz of Kotayq. Before visiting, we got into touch with Gevorg’s father, but he was not at home when we arrived. A woman opened the door. We thought it was the mother. But it was the aunt of Gevorg. The mother was quietly sitting in the corner focused on Gevorg’s pictures. She didn’t utter a word or step away. She was talking to Gevorg’s pictures. Only when we approached to photograph Gevorg’s pictures, she showed us his student card.
We thank the following generous donors for helping the family of our hero: Vahe Mesropyan, Irina Badalyan, Levon Martirosyan, Marine Khachatryan, Hovhannes Tepoyan, Hranoush Krpeian, Anush Kechechyan, Lousik Tahmasian, Sita Hazarian, Kajik Khachatryan. THANK YOU!!!
Hayrenaser visited the family of fallen hero ARMAN ANDRASYAN and delivered our donors’ gratitude and $500 in donations.
Arman Andrasyan’s family lives in the Metz Mantash village of the marz of Shirak. During our visit the father was improving the grave of our hero. “Instead of him fixing my grave, I am working on his…” was saying the father and weeping. Every day he looks at his son’s pictures and cries. He shared the pictures with us. The father cannot reconcile with the idea that “they could be victorious over his son. Arman was the youngest in the household. Our hero has four older brothers.
We thank the following generous donors for helping the family of our hero: Arshavir Hartoun Estepanian, Arman Vartanian, Arsen Alabashyan, Henrik Karapetyan, David Movsesian, Emen Baghoomian. THANK YOU!!!
