“Hayrenaser” at the patriot’s house

I am knocking Armenak Urfanyan’s door. The last time she looked forward for the door to open was on Easter Eave. However, I had other concerns. I thought of a hundred different scenarios how my meeting with our hero’s mother, Hamest, would go, so I could pass on to her the donations from Hayrenaser, their gratitude and heartfelt letter from the founders.

She received many letters from people in the past few days; letters which glorified her brave and patriotic, Armenak, as the son of commander Vazgen, and comforted and encouraged the mother. Every word and dialogue is invaluable for this family.

Reaching Out to Families of Our Heroes

We have been reaching out to the families of our fallen heroes. As would be expected, this outreach is very emotional. Our team member, Tamar Grigoryan, put that experience in words.

I need to call the mother of our fallen hero Armenak Urfanyan, Mrs. Hamest. My hand’s shaking, but I pick the phone and timidly dial the number… I need to tell her that the Hayrenaser Organization is fundraising to help the families of our martyred boys.

Requiem of a capitan Armenak Urfanyan took place at the St. Hovhannes Church in Yerevan

Your donation will provide financial assistance to newly-widowed wives of fallen heroes who have to struggle to put food on the table. You will impact the lives of newly-orphaned little children who will grow up without a father-figure in their lives. You will help to take care of elderly parents whose martyred sons will no longer be able to care for them, to protect them. You will help protect Mrs. Hamest, just as her hero son Armenak died protecting us.

Our heroes need YOUR urgent help!

Our boys, the brave soldiers of the Armenian Armed Forces, showed true heroism as they defended our motherland these past days against a vicious aggressor. At times that heroism required of them the ultimate sacrifice – their lives.

One such hero, army captain Armenak Urfanyan, sacrificed his life to save his company and stop the enemy’s advance. After ordering his men to retreat to safety he stayed behind all alone to face an overwhelming enemy force. In the ensuing battle captain Urfanyan managed to destroy an enemy tank and eliminate a dozen enemy soldiers. Once out of ammunition, he used his last grenade to blow up himself and the approaching enemy, rather than surrender.
